CutGen License Agreements

Non-Commercial, Commercial, and Extended Commercial terms

Non-Commercial (Free Account)

The Free Account is for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may:

  • Create physical items for your own personal use
  • Create physical items as gifts
  • Use the Basic Box Designer and available free generators

You may not:

  • Sell physical items made from CutGen designs
  • Use CutGen designs to market or promote a business
  • Sell, share, or give away digital design files, including SVG, DXF, STL, PNG, or similar exported files
  • Sell or distribute files generated by, copied from, or derived from CutGen generators
  • Use CutGen photos in your marketing

For any business, resale, or commercial use, upgrade to a Pro Account or Extended Commercial License, depending on your intended use.

Commercial (Pro Account)

The Pro Account includes a commercial license for physical products only.

You may:

  • Sell physical items you make using CutGen SVG generators
  • Use CutGen-generated designs to create physical products for your business
  • Continue selling physical items from designs downloaded while your Pro Account was active, even if you later cancel

You may not:

  • Sell, share, or give away digital design files, including SVG, DXF, STL, PNG, or similar exported files
  • Sell or distribute standalone exported files from CutGen generators
  • Create or sell digital file packs based on CutGen generator exports
  • Re-upload, share, leak, or distribute CutGen generator access, source code, scripts, or user interface
  • Use CutGen tools to create competing generator-style products
  • Use CutGen photos in your marketing

The CutGen Pro commercial license applies to physical items only. Digital files are never included for resale or redistribution.

Extended Commercial (Pro Account)

The Extended Commercial License allows broader commercial use of CutGen-generated output files when they are meaningfully modified and incorporated into larger original designs.

Grant of License

CutGen grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use CutGen generators for the purpose of designing and producing original projects and derivative creative works.

Permitted Use of Output Files

You may use exported files generated from CutGen tools, including SVG, DXF, STL, PNG, and similar files, as a starting point to create:

  • Laser-cut projects
  • 3D-printable projects
  • Project kits
  • Woodworking or crafting templates
  • Digital file bundles that are part of a larger original design offering

You may sell or distribute finished works commercially, including physical or qualifying digital products, only when the CutGen output files are meaningfully modified and integrated into a larger original design.

Allowed Commercial Distribution

Commercial distribution is allowed only when the output files meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • The output files are combined with other design elements, such as text, layout, assembly, decorative components, additional parts, or hardware integration
  • The geometry is significantly modified through shape edits, additional cutouts, merged parts, or a new structure
  • The files are incorporated into a complete product or kit design where the CutGen output files are not the main value of the product

The intent of this license is to allow CutGen tools to be used as a design foundation, not as a source of resellable raw generator exports.

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Sell, give away, or redistribute standalone output files that are essentially unchanged exports from CutGen tools
  • Create or sell digital packs whose primary value is simply exported files from CutGen generators, even if slightly edited
  • Re-upload, share, leak, or distribute CutGen generator access, source code, scripts, or user interface
  • Use CutGen tools to create competing generator-style products, including templates intended to replicate generator outputs
  • Sell or distribute any product marketed as CutGen Generator Files or CutGen Templates
  • Use CutGen photos in your marketing unless separately authorized

Attribution

If you publish a video, blog post, or product description featuring designs created using CutGen tools, please include attribution such as:

Designed using CutGen.io generators, used as a starting point.

A link to https://cutgen.io should be included where practical.

Ownership

CutGen retains all ownership rights to the tools, generator logic, website, underlying designs, templates, and code.

You retain ownership of your original designs and bundled projects created using CutGen tools, subject to the restrictions of this license.

Cancellation and Termination

CutGen may terminate this license immediately if you violate any prohibited use terms.

Upon termination, you must stop using CutGen tools and stop distributing any output files that violate this agreement. Termination does not require removal or withdrawal of previously distributed finished works that were created and released in compliance with this agreement.

No Warranty / Limitation of Liability

CutGen tools and output files are provided “as-is,” without warranties of any kind. CutGen is not liable for damages arising from the use or inability to use the tools or output files.
